Musical Genius, Already

Besties

In case you were wondering, I still hang out with my best friend Cormick Keilman a lot. We are B.F.F.'s. (That's "best friends forever" for those of you who are unfamiliar.)

Here we are, hanging out at the griz game party.

I am contemplating stealing Cormick's toy in this picture.

Here we are cruising the mall.

Sometimes you need a friend to exercise with!

McKenzie family Christmas

Christmas came early to the McKenzie family! Mainly because my beautiful aunt Angela came to visit in the middle of December. We got to celebrate early with her!

Here are some pictures of the event.

Here's Grandpa Scott helping me play with my new frog toy.

Enjoying my new rocking chair! This chair was my dad's when he was a baby.

This is my "America's Next Top Model" shot.

Look at the haul! I got lots of presents.

DON'T touch my presents, please.

Cookie Monster!

There's so much... I don't know what to do first!

Montana... Grizzlies...

Check out my new Montana winter wear! Coat and a really awesome hat. However, I knew when this picture was taken that the Griz would not win the national championship... that's why I look so annoyed.

T.G.I.V. (Thank goodness it's vacation!)

Hello! My mom has been a major slacker in the blog department. She's had a busy couple of months. But now she's on vacation... and life is good!
You may be noticing that I'm becoming a long-haired hippie. It's true. My hair is getting quite long. I also have a baby mullet... business in the front, party in the back.

Or, as my great-uncle John Sheehy called it... a "skullet." Because I do have rather large bald spot right above the mullet.

Enough about my hair! Here's what I'm into right now.

Listening to tunes on my super cool radio.

Rattles are a classic that never get old.

My BEST friend, the puppy! More about him later.

This frog is mighty tasty.

Don't mind me, I'm just texting on my new cell phone!

Did you notice how well I'm sitting up?

Still no crawling, but it won't be long. I still hate being on my tummy, and now we know why... at the last doctor's appointment, the pediatrician informed us all that I have a huge head! My body and weight are in the 25-50th percentile, but my head is in the 90th! It's really annoying being on my tummy and trying to lug this huge cranium around!

My grandpa Duane got me a new deluxe exersaucer. It is awesome, and I spend a lot of time here these days!

8 Things

I stole this from Kassiah; it looked fun.

8 Things:

Favorite TV Shows:
The Office
Friends
Seinfeld
The O.C.
Sex and the City
Grey's Anatomy
Desperate Housewives
Jon and Kate Plus 8

Favorite Restaurants:
Biga Pizza
Don Orozco (California.)
The Iron Horse (shut up.)
Ciao Mambo
The Depot
The Good Food Store (shut up again. It's good. Hence the name!)
MacKenzie River Pizza
Olive Garden

Things that happened yesterday:
I got new floors. They are awesome.
I ditched school. That was awesome too.
Peter, Ben & I had portraits taken.
I bought new clothes for Ben.
I ate way too much and did not run.
I was freaking tired and took several random naps along with Ben.
I went to Lowe's.
I went to bed at 9:00. That was the best part of the day.

Things to look forward to:
December 11: Concerts/shows are over. Relief, relaxation.
Thanksgiving. A brief gap in the chaos of the musical holiday season.
Next Saturday: Cat/griz, Dad's birthday.
Molly getting engaged. It's going to happen soon; I feel it!
My 5th grade Christmas program, called "North Pole Star." A spoof on American Idol, half written by me, and it is brilliant. R to the E to the I to the N to the D to the EER.
My 6-8 honor choir. They are amazing. And they are performing a soul/funk medley. It is rad.
The next time I get to hug my boy.
Molly & I going to Carrie Underwood next Friday, then out on the town! Holla!

Things I love about fall:
Sweaters
Colors
Football (even though it bores me, there's something fun about the atmosphere...)
Back to school. Until the second week, when I am already tired and annoyed.
Thick blankets.
Looking forward to the holidays.
Looking forward to snow.
Thanksgiving. Binge eating is always good.

Obsessions/Collections:
Ben.
Musical theater. Performing and watching. Music directing is ok too... but not as fun as performing...
Torturing junior high children.
Quilting... wish I was better at it.
Dancing... wish I was way better at it.
Running... I don't know if it's an obsession, though.
Facebook.
Texting.

My wish list:
Happiness
To be RICH. (Don't judge. I don't believe anyone who says they don't want this.)
A great future for Ben and whomever else comes along
To have more time to perform
To have more time to take dance classes
For my voice to come back to normal (it's trashed right now)
A fun vacation with Peter
To have four more hours in every day.

Viking

Ben is a miniature Viking. He looks like a real beefcake here.

Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!!Well, Ben's first Halloween was pretty exciting. He did not seem to enjoy dressing up, and slept through most of the trick-or-treating. But I'm sure that he did enjoy it... on some level....

Pumpkin Sleeper

Chili Pepper Costume!

Hot Stuff

Puppy Costume!

The "Ben Face." Mouth wide open. He is like this 90% of the time.

I do not LIKE my puppy costume.

I am so tired. Why are you doing this to me?

Ben's friend Cormick was also a puppy! It wasn't even planned... it was just meant to be.
When we went trick-or-treating at Cormick's house, at first Ben refused to wake up. He was determined to sleep through the whole ordeal.

Now he's awake, and happy!

Cutest puppies ever!

What's Goin' On...

Mother, mother... there's too many of you cryin'... (that was in reference to the title of this blog)

So, things are great! Busy, but great! I have no life except school, lessons, Ben, and now musical directing a show at MCT. Any and all free time is gladly spent at home. Therefore, I don't really have any good stories. I'll just post the latest pictures.

The big baby news this month is that we started solids. So of course we have all the obligatory "messy eater" shots. Bear with me. I'm pretty sure, though, that my kid is cuter than most when eating messily. I'm a big fan of the solids... he is much more content and sleeping better than before. It makes me realize that he must have been pretty hungry before we started them.

First bite of cereal! Not sure what to think yet.

First time I punched the bowl out of Mom's hand while eating. (Yes, this has happened several times.)

Mmmm. I LOVE cereal now.

Indeed, Benjamin. Indeed.

Oooh, sweet potatoes! Now we're talking! (And puking orange!)

I like to hold the spoon when I can.

I like to put it in my eye.

Now for some random pictures.

"Grouching"

Everything goes in my mouth these days.

I am already beginning my career as a musician.

See, I have a guitar AND a drum, and several very awesome rattles.

I still like to fall asleep on Mom's shoulder sometimes. I do it for her, 'cause she really likes it.
